ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

   
 

 

Applicants to the Master of Science program are required to have successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) or equivalent university degree.

Applicants to the PhD program are required to have successfully completed a masters degree in a field or discipline relevant to survey research. Examples would include degrees in mathematics/statistics, the social sciences, economics and business or marketing studies.

Applicants to the Certificate program are required to have successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) or equivalent university degree.

All applicants are required to apply on-line through the Office of Graduate Studies. More about the application process and required documents for application can be found at:

Applicants must also submit:

  • Test scores from all sections of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) or, if minoring in marketing, from the GMAT (neither are required for the Certificate program)
  • Two copies of your official transcripts from all colleges / universities attended
  • Students from countries in which English is not the first language must submit their results from the TOEFL examination. SRAM requires the following minimum TOEFL requirements:
    Paper 585
    Computer 240
    Internet 95
  • A personal statement outlining your study and career goals
  • Three letters of recommendation

Deadlines for application to the M.S., Ph.D. and Certificate programs:

Applications and requests for financial assistance, in the form of Graduate Research Assistantships for M.S. and Ph.D. programs, are due by February 1 of each year. Please contact the SRAM office for more details.

The SRAM Admissions Committee admits qualified students based on past academic performance, their letters of reference, personal statement and standardized examination scores.

 

Funding Opportunities:

The Gallup Organization funds a number of Graduate Research Assistantships for the SRAM M.S. degree program. Additionally Gallup funds a Research Methodology Fellowship. A link to the Gallup online application for this Fellowship is provided here.

All UNL programs have possibilities to fund exceptional out-of-state and underrepresented students. For more information on funding opportunities, please contact the SRAM office.

The deadline for scholarship application is February 1 of each year.
