Brief Bio:

Rene Bautista received his BA degree in Political Science from ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico) with his dissertation entitled 'Elements of Construction in Public Opinion: The role of heuristics in Mexican energetic opening-up, case study'. Also, he holds three Diplomas at Graduate level from ITAM: (1) Political Marketing, (2) Government andPublic Policy and (3) Applied Statistics.

He is a 2006 graduate of the SRAM masters program and he is currently a Doctoral student. While attending graduate school at UNL, he has participated in several projects at UNL-Gallup Research Center as research assistant. Also, as a SRAM student, he has presented papers in professional conferences.

Before enrolling at the SRAM graduate program, he occupied positions as public opinion consultant in Mexico, first working for the Mexican federal government and then, for independent polling firms in Mexico City. In particular, while affiliated with Parametria SA de CV, one of the largest public opinion firms in Mexico, his consulting activities extended into areas of survey management, sampling processes, questionnaire design, focus groups, and public opinion analysis.

His areas of expertise are household surveys and exit polling, specifically in the Mexican public opinion framework.

Rene is married to Erika; they have two beautiful daughters, Adela and Valeria. They enjoy traveling, cooking, dancing, watching movies, field trips and good conversation.
