Brief Bio:

Tarek graduated with a Master's in Political Science from the University of Kansas in 2003 and with a Master's in Survey Methodology from the University of Maryland in 2005. He is currently a doctoral student in the Survey Research and Methodology and is working as a Research Assistant at the UNL-Gallup Research Center in Lincoln. Prior to coming to UNL, he worked in the development of expert witnesses that would testify on public opinion data in corporate litigation.
Tarek's current research focuses on response scales in surveys and the numeric capabilities of respondents. Previously, he has worked in different areas of research, including the ability to frame highly salient events and the development of tools for medical researchers to disseminate new findings and products. The tool he developed with colleagues to assist with the dissemination of medical research has recently been adopted by the World Health Organization as a tool for researchers to use around the world.
