Exchange Program

Both the University of Nebraska--Lincoln (UNL) Survey Research and Methodology pgraduate rogram, and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VUA) Social Research Methodology graduate program are heavily invested in issues of questionnaire design and the quality of survey responses, and the interactive communication processes among interviewers, survey instruments, and respondents that impact on response quality. The exchange program fosters continuing collaborations between both programs in these areas, as well as provide opportunities for cross-national and cross-cultural research. Dr. Robert Belli at UNL and dr. Wander van der Vaart at VUA are the Academic Coordinators for the graduate student exchange program.

The Survey Research and Methodology graduate program has an on-going one-semester exchange opportunity with the post-graduate program in Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences (QASS) at the Catholic University in Brussels, Belgium. Both SRAM and the QASS are heavily invested in the modeling and analysis of quantitative survey data, and the communication of these analyses to key decision and policy makers. The QASS program attracts leading quantitative faculty from across Europe and the U.S. to provide up-to-the-moment instruction on the latest developments in quantitative methodology and analysis. Dr. Allan McCutcheon at UNL and Dr. Marc Swyngedouw of the Catholic University are the academic coordinators for the exchange program.
